The rationale behind this project was to give viewers an insight on a popular local food. Hence, I chose Hainanese Chicken Rice, Singapore’s National Dish. This infographic contains information regarding how Hainanese Chicken Rice came about, the different variations of Chicken Rice, Statistics and Accolades of Hainanese Chicken Rice, as well as a shortlist of the best Hainanese Chicken Rice in Singapore. 

Research on the history of chicken rice, different variations of Chicken Rice, Statistics, accolades as well as a shortlist of the best Hainanese Chicken Rice in Singapore was gathered. It revealed that Chicken Rice was one of the most popular dishes in Singapore. In order to represent this, I had to compile the information and think of creative ways to change the words into graphics and also lay out the information such that visual hierarchy is established and that the information is able to guide the viewer’s eyes. Lastly, the design process takes place and I used Adobe Illustrator to come up with and design certain elements that make up each part of the entire infographic.
